Expiration Date

Expiration Date I reached into the refrigerator for the milk. I poured a tall glass of cool and refreshing drink and reached for a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. I took a bite and lifted the glass to my mouth and spit it out ...it was spoiled it was now extremely sour. I looked at the milk carton and I was reminded the milk had an expiration date was a week ago This made me think. We all have an expiration date stamped on our lives. the day God has determined it is time to stand before your creator and the King of Kings -The day we meet God. It does not matter if you believe it our not not one bit. ..you will meet God one day in the future. The best doctors can not save you when your expiration day is planned and predestined. It may be something sudden in your eyes but God had it stamped on our lives from the beginning of time. God is always on time. The question is are you ready to meet your maker. God loves you. God is Holy and without Sin -perfect in all His ways. God is the creator of everything and he created you as a unique and gifted one of a kind individual. God has prepared a place of total perfection with nothing but his best for us in a city with golden streets - where you will only be happy forever and forever. Where you will never suffer pain or sorrow and will never have a bad hair day or slam your hand in a car door. Where their will be no need for light because the Almighty God will shine in all His glory. But because of Sin ( anything we say do or think that hurts the very nature of a holy and perfect God.) separates from the perfect sinless God ..there can be no sin and I mean no sin not even a taint of sin in the same proximity of of holy God that would reduce Him to less than perfect. That would besmirch His holy sin less environment. We would all be without hope . Never to be in the presence of a Holy God ...lost forever. Eternally separate from God in a place of constant torment and horrible excruciating pain burning in hell ..with no way out, nothing to quench the thirst and the smell of burning flesh forever. I know we are not to "scare" people into heaven ... I know some of you will scoff at this ... After all you think you are more intelligent than God. I know some of you will test this till your last breath and you expire on your chosen expiration date. For some of you you will use the age old thought, "how could a loving God send someone to hell" to insulate you from the Truth. God is LOVE and He sent a rescuer for each of us. This loving God sent His only son Jesus as little baby to earth. The Birthday of Jesus was so important it "split the Calendar" of time and to this day we still refer to this as B.C. ( before Christ) And A.D. ( after the death of Christ) Jesus lived out his life here on earth for one reason and one reason only, to die. Yes He came to die but not before He experienced life. Jesus knew what it was like to live as we do. He suffered he knew what it meant to work, he experienced temptation. Jesus knew what it meant to grow from boyhood and leave His family as an adult. He experienced everything we experience except he was sinless. When He reached the age of 33. Jesus willingly gave up His life on the brutal cross and all the sins of all of mankind past, present,and future were placed upon Him while he agonized on the cross so we could be saved from the final wrath of God. The Bible says God turned His back on His Son and Jesus cried out " My God why have you forsaken me." We no longer carry the penalty of our sins as long as we believed that He died and three days later arose from the dead and now is sitting at he right of our God and creator. He is the only one that paid the price so we do not have to pay the price of eternal separation from God. All we are required to do to move from lost to saved is to admit we are sinners and repent and turn from our sin. We must believe Jesus did die for our sins and ask him to become the "boss" of our lives...He wants to plant His Holy Spirit within you. What He wants is to trust and commit our lives to Him. Jeremiah 29:13 "And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. True Christian belief is demonstrated through action. This is not to be mechanical or forced. Receiving the Grace of God is a truly beautiful thing.. The fact is we are not asking Jesus into our hearts but instead we are asking Jesus to change our hearts receiving also means following Jesus.
