Time

Time

Time is a very interesting commodity. We all have time and we all have exactly the same amount of time. Yet some accomplish so much and others so little. Why? We live each day with exactly the same number of seconds and minutes as we pass through this world on way to where time is no more.

Time is all around us and in everything we do. We measure time, keep time and live our lives totally enveloped in time. Time involves the past, present, and future. Events and actions are noted by time. The world today is mesmerized by time and the possibility of “time travel”

When I hear the excuse I don’t have time I always remind people we all have the exact same amount of time it is all about priority use of the time…. Or maybe better stated the passions of or time. Time management experts are good at reminding us that our time is our life – whatever controls our time is our life. That is why “Christian time” should be different but certainly it is not always so. As Christians we should consider what is important to God first. The starting place for all of us is to look at how God see’s time.

As we grow older with the passage of time Beth and I are amazed at the resources God has placed in each of us and the time he has gifted each of us with. I think you are touched by reality of time when you have you first child and then again when you become an empty nester and the children leave home and now you are looking into the face of each other and the last half or quarter of life statistically thinking. You can either look back with regrets or you can look forward with hope and optimism. That is up to you – it depends a lot on what you have hitched your wagon to in your life.

The Bible says we are but a vapor –James 4:14 says “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Take time today to reflect on a morning midst or the steam coming off your hot cup of coffee – watch both as they disappear. We are entering a very interesting phase of our lives. A time when come to deep realization of that even with a long life in view of life it isn’t forever on this earth. Time catches you at some point temporally but never eternally;. George Bernard Shaw put a very interesting twist on time. He said, “Statistics on death are impressive, one out one dies our lives are like sand castles destined for impermanence.” This why one wants to prioritize your action in life and work hard while one can. Tick, tick, tick, You just saw time pass before your eyes never to be returned to you.

Beth and I want to encourage you no matter what your age is to:

  1. Write out and post personal mission statement. Figure out what is truly important to you.

  2. Write out and some new lifetime goals – take time to review them at least monthly.

  3. Write out and establish short term goals and develop a plan to make it happen. If you have Christ living you have the added power of the God’s Holy Spirit so think big and do Really Big things in His power.

  4. See your days as presenting to the Lord a heart of Wisdom ( Psalm 1:7 The fear (the respect or awe” of God ) for His Glory!

  5. Remember if you know the Lord as your Savior and master –You are a trophy in God’s “Trophy Cabinet” And if you have not yet given you’re your heart soul and mind to Christ and made Him the boss of your life.-- Now. Why Not today. Message me on facebook -William Vogel or leave a comment on this sight and we will contact you and show you time can be on your side here and for eternity where time is no more. Join us in heaven when your time time runs out. Don’t buy into the lie the devil is whispering your ear - I have time to make this most important decision I’ll do it later – Maybe and Maybe not.

  6. Now get to work- The clock is ticking – make the most of the time allotted to you.

In Conclusion Time is precious but we don’t know how precious it really is. We will only know when we are no longer able to take advantage of time.
