Sin is a Bummer

Sin is a Bummer

The hang over is a real drag.

Sin always cost more than you originally factored when it looked so appealing. Did you weigh the consequences? The devil is such a liar and he never negotiates fairly. Maybe you knew there would be consequences, but you had no idea how expensive it would be.

Today I took out a piece of paper and looked around at some recent contacts Beth an I have made. I wrote down a short list of how sin has effected their lives.

Prison time

Broken families

Government investigation

Sexual dysfunction

Porn addiction

alcohol and drug additions

Trust issues because of sex before marriage.

Think and make your own list of some of carnage the devil has wrought on people near you. Then take a moment and look at your own life.. It was eye opening to me.

The Bible and Gods ways rather than mans ways brings peace and joy to life.

If you are a blood bought child of God the stakes are even higher. Sin separates us from fellowship from God. Our connection to Him is flawed. Guilt is often overwhelming and peace is no more. We know that we willingly hurt our "best friend" and many others.

Thank God for I John 1:9. ( the Christians "bar of soap"). Our fellowship can be restored, but our testimony as a child of God has been at the least compromised and often damaged. We have brought shame to the " family name"

Say no to sin - it really is not worth it.. It is a bummer and a drag.

P.S. A nation that also sins will corporately face deep consequences.. That's why we must always be on the lookout and speak boldly and frankly when we see leaders making ungodly choices. It's not worth the pain. Pray for America.
