Human nature facts: People are quick to jump to conclusions People are inherently curious Positive Enthusiasm draws people Pastors can be skeptical because they are approached by so many people and organizations.. Often they feel they are protecting their church by saying no. It is a good idea to identify with their fear up front... "Pastor we only have one agenda and nothing else.. We want to see children evangelized discipled; to see them and their families established in this church; to grow into men and women that will honor, love and serve God." You will find out very quickly whether the pastor is kingdom minded or church minded. If the pastor is kingdom minded, he will look at every opportunity to share Christ... no matter when, where or how. However, if the pastor is church minded, he will ask what it is in this decision that will help my church. What we know about communication: 7% - content 38% - voice 55% - body language.. Recruit pastors to an environment/atmosphere...they will respond more to what they feel than what they hear. This is why you want to have 1 or 2 great testimonies to share. It is important to touch and reach hearts. Always remember to build people, that includes pastors, and they will build the ministry. Build a relationship...encourage and recognize their efforts. Talk movement rather than Good News Club! Use a conversational style with an easy and pleasant delivery. Remember, there are 3 steps to mastering anything as you move out to meet with pastors. 1. Awkward 2. Mechanical 3. Natural It is okay to be scared, frustrated, and discouraged as long as you keep charging ahead.
