What Are Your Priorities ?

There are so many things wanting our attention today. Beware that the many things don't crowd out the most important things, the things that truly matter. Today there is so much to juggle and many feel helpless and hopeless. They are fighting a battle and they are confused. In our world, many of us have a sign across our foreheads blinking," busy so busy" . For some of us we think that is a badge of honor. What are your priorities? What truly matters to you? Why am I doing this? It is so easy to tout such phrases as God first, others second and myself last. Or how about God, Wife, Family, and business or ministry are my priorities. How many times have you heard someone say my priorities are God, country and my fellow man. Easy to say, not always easy to live out. The challenge is often trust and faith. Our thoughts immediately take us elsewhere and we conform to the patterns of the world and to man's way of looking at life. Trust is a foundational stone; it breaks down society and individuals become afraid. Fear and uncertainty move people away from their priorities. That is why faith is so important. Faith is an allegiance to a person our idea. Believing God's Word and the absolute truths helps define priorities so we can and act on them. How you choose to spend your time conveys your priorities. So if you do not take action on your priorities you may need to reflect why? Honestly do we believe the same priorities we tout? It is easy to say something but it's more important to live what you believe. How you live your life reveals the real you. In order to determine your priorities in life step back and assess where and on what are you spending your resource of time on. There is nothing in life that will impact you as much as setting priorities. It is a decision and choice that will give your life direction and the added momentum to conquer and move ahead. As a Christian, God helps us divide the priorities that are important to Him. He provides these for us in His Word the Bible. If we align with His priorities we cannot go wrong. Here are a few of His stated priorities.

1. "Love the Lord thy God with all your soul, heart and mind (might)."

2. " love your neighbor as thyself"

3. " Seek ye first the kingdom of God and and His righteousness and all theses other things will be added unto you."

4." serve one another in Love."

5. "Husbands love your wives even as Christ loves His church." "Wives honor and respect you husbands for this right"

6. " Raise your children in the admonition of God and his Word. "these words I Am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. you shall teach them diligently to your children."

7. " honor your father and mother, as the Lord commanded, so that you may live long and that it may go well for you."

8. " Whatever you do, do it well (heartily) as unto the lord (serving the Lord) and not men."

Note: this is far from an exhaustive study. If we just did that much we would accomplish great and mighty things. Bottomline, priority one is that you are to love and serve the Lord, your God first and foremost in everything we do say or think. You and I are to bring glory to His name in everything you and I do.
