I In Christ Am Fit For Life In Heaven

Christ in me I am fit for life on earth. How are the things we do impacting our own eternity as well as those God has put in our way? We often do not look far enough into the future and consider the eternal consequences of how we are living now. So many times we are so concerned about today, we forget we are as James says, just a mist. James 4:14 says, “you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” We forget we are leaving footprints as we pass on into eternity. Don’t make presumptions on the future without consulting God. The world is constantly changing. Most people, including myself, live like tomorrow is not coming. The fact is the pages of history show us a very different story. What does the future hold? No one but God actually knows. We are told to live in the now. The future is a destination. What do you and I devote our time to? Think for a moment about those most precious to you. A spouse, children, sibling, a parent etc. We have to admit we love spending time with them. But are they all followers of Christ? Will you see them all in heaven? These are uncomfortable questions I realize but they need to be addressed. Instead of rushing blindly from one obligation to another, take time to care. Take time to celebrate the lives of others. Take time to show the most important things and beliefs to others. Show them first of all, your love of Jesus, then take it the next step and share the good news of the gospel with them. This is what taking a long view is all about. Jesus says, “behold I stand at the door knocking, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him. “ What is more important than loved ones that surround you? To live each day as our last is also living hopefully a very long view. No man knows exactly when Christ will return or when our expiration date is. Let’s look at the future for a Christian Revelation 21:4-10 1. No more suffering or pain 2. Eternal life in heaven with our Savior Jesus 3. Sons and daughters of God 4. No more death as death is finally conquered 5. God will wipe away all tears 6. No need for the sun ..light will come from God Himself 7. Inheritance - all things 8. Priceless blessing 9. Christ Himself 10. Beauty, peace and love - Christ Like
