Truth And Honesty; The Currency Of The Kingdom

I was struck by these words as I was reading my devotional today. David Jeremiah, a famous preacher from outside San Diego California, said “ There is nothing like a lack of trust to destroy a relationship. Trust and honesty is the currency of the kingdom. Without that currency, we cannot do business (or ministry).” We cannot interact with one another without these two traits.

When one looks at the attack on society and the polarization of people and groups, one wonders where this is all coming from and why now. True society has walked away from God and created a vacuum for all kinds of evil. We are witnessing daily, “Satan's playground.” But I also can tell you for certain there is a final winner in this battle and it is not Satan; it is God Himself..

Today if you are watching, confusion and a lack of trust are being heaped upon the unwary public. Unsuspecting, weak minded, never grounded people are being taken captive by untruth and false doctrines. Even the church today is being easily mislead by the falsehoods and the sly rationale of the great deceiver. Never has been more important to live your life truthfully and to represent Christ as true.

To do that a Christians walk must be true and without excuse. Hypocrisy is rampant in so many places in our society. Say one thing one moment, act another way next. So many carry the title but truth and honesty does not reign supreme in their lives. Often they are not even attending church to grow their faith; and the things of God are add ons, not integral to their lives.

We are experiencing so much “truth “ so quickly in our fast paced world. We must take time to meditate on God’s Word and find a good church that preaches God’s Word to reinforce the real truth into our lives. In an increasing Information Age, it is more important than ever to rest in arms of our Lord. The day of saying one thing but living another should end. Christians Arise and be who we are called to be - Christ followers. Time to bring back boldness and reliance on our Lord and Savior.

Don’t fall into the trap of the godless media, the godless politicians, and the godless people who want to preach their rationale and ideologies. The devil is sly and knows the currency of the kingdom is truth and honesty, so he packages the worlds truth in terms like equality, choice, fairness, and right, when it is definitely wrong. Weigh it all against the ultimate truth God’s Holy and perfect Word. The Bible.

Here are some keys to True Success:

  1. Read your Bible daily.

  2. Mediate upon the words God has chosen for you.

  3. Go to a Truth telling church and look for ways to get involved.

  4. Pray regularly for guidance and direction.

  5. Be grateful.

  6. Witness to others through your life and help others see Jesus in you.

  7. Don’t get dragged off by rationalism or the fairness doctrines of the world if they are not what is presented in God’s Word.

  8. Be honest and be complete with your integrity in all aspects of your life.

  9. Be civil and watch your language.

  10. Love others.

Understanding the current times is without question one of the keys for effective leadership. The Word of God has been the answer for every culture and every generation. But understanding and discerning truth and understanding the current war on Truth is the battle ground of today.

1 Chronicles 12:32 “...who were men who had understanding of the Times...”
