Ministry Is A Blast!!!

Ministry is a blast! Have you ever noticed the tag line to our website, Ministry is a Blast? Let me tell you why we chose that for our ministry. Some time ago, Beth and I decided we would go wherever and whenever God called us to go. Big or small, significant or insignificant, it would not matter; the opportunities would be acknowledged and acted upon (to the best of our abilities). We would wake up every morning, excited about what God had destined for our lives. We would look ahead and anticipate divine appointments. We accepted the fact that it was not always going to be easy and without trouble, but we would be covered by God’s grace and mercy. We knew God went before us and that is all we needed. This week was no different. God opened new opportunities as a person approached us and said, "my daughter in law is a principal at an elementary school and I am sure she wants a Good News Club.. can you help get one set up?" All I could think was.. praise God!! More children for Jesus! What about those timely phone calls like the one this morning? A local church member called regarding a young lady she wanted us to meet after church that expressed an interest in becoming a missionary. All could think was ... God may be raising up another person for reaching the children. Or how about the hair stylist who cut my hair this week. She has children in school where there is an active Good News Club, and now will be sending her children to the club! Readiness and obedience is God’s call on each of our lives. When God speaks, listen! Answer His call with excitement and enthusiasm. God’s call is often heard but not acted upon. Be alert and ready, and you too will find that ministry is a blast! Be prepared to be surprised. Ministry is a blast! We are never called to parade our doubt. It is time to render this attributes obsolete. Keep in tune with God and His desires all the time. “And we know (believe) all things (not some things) work together for good.... for those who love God. And to those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 If you turn a beautiful tapestry over, it is a labyrinth of string and yarn, going everywhere to produce the artists, designer, and creator master piece on the other side. The intrigue is in the wonder of what the strings are going to produce. It is an excellent adventure as you watch the progression. You celebrate the beauty in final action as the artist turns the piece over to reveal the final picture. The oohs and awes and praise now flow forth from the observers as they celebrate the masterpiece and its maker. Note this is a conditional promise in Romans 8:28.
