God Established The Family For A Loving Relationship

Sin divides families. Society ills can be traced to the destruction of families. Poverty is often the result of single parent families. Fatherless and motherless children struggle with the concept of love, especially a heavenly father's love. As we reach many of the unchurched children in our public schools with Good News Clubs, we are constantly reminded of the abuse and neglect children are facing. Abandonment is often deep fissures in the Psyche of the children today. The pain so many children experienced as they are passed from one family to another is incalculable. This alone should give reason for one to really think through the ramifications of divorce. Family. F - fidelity, fun, foundation, faithful “God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society." A- accountable, available, affirmation M- memories, meals, mercy I - involved, intersecting, interesting, Integrity L- lasting, laughter, listening and love Y- yielding, yearning, yoked together Children are deeply touched by Gods promise found in Hebrews “I will never leave and forsake you.” It is so exciting to see them put their faith in Christ and hang this shingle on their faith. Children need proper instruction and what greater instruction than watching and seeing wise and God fearing adults living lives as examples of Biblical living. Influence does carry down to the next generation, often leading to children who act out in excess what their parents did in moderation. This should call us up short and cause us to really think about what our children are seeing in our lives. “If the Godly give into the wicked it is like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.” Proverbs 25:26 “He is like a tree planted by the streams of water that yields good fruit in due season, it’s leave does not wither.
