An amazing concept necessary for successful leadership. “I can’t take it anymore. This is just too hard and I am so tired! All I do is work... work... work. I just feel like I'm just spinning my wheels. Why do bad things happen to good people? How do I continue?" Persistence in the midst of challenges is often the difference between those who are successful and those who fail. Persistence is defined by Webster as, “firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.” Persistent leaders know that nothing works all the time and if it does, they may have to confront the fact that they are not dreaming and stretching enough to grow. Are you the type of person who will stand up and go forward, while others sit down and quit? The keys to persistence and “Sticktoitiveness” Knowing your values and virtues; the deeper you. The foundational beliefs are the anchor for your persistent attitude. I believe God attitude.. Trust in someone other than yourself. Often times it is an impossibility, for we are not perfect, but God is. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
A. Remind yourself of God's promises.
B. Remind yourself of the sovereignty of God. Your "Why" is the most relevant. What is your vision or dream and how committed are you to accomplishing this feat? What is your all-consuming vision? C. Your goal should be in “Concrete” but your plans in “sand." Map out your possibilities. There are many doors and possibilities to open in order to achieve a goal or Dream. D. Move on. Remain active! E. Remember always, people will not follow a quitter. Keep this in mind whenever you are thinking about quitting. Your CHARACTER is something followers are watching more than your words. Character follows you everywhere and with everything you do. Questions for us to consider: How do You and I show an attitude of perseverance in our daily lives? Ask yourself; Am I finishing well? How can I achieve the next big dream God places on my heart? What part does Prayer play in my life as I continue toward a goal or dream? How does a thankful and grateful heart fit into the equation of perseverance? Lord help us to stay true to you and strong in the battle to the very end.
