I In Christ; We Are Fit For Life In Heaven

Christ In Me; We Are Fit For Life On Earth How are the things we do impacting our own eternity as well as those God has put in our path? We often do not look far enough into the future and consider the eternal consequences of how we are living now. So many times, we are so concerned about today, we forget we are as James says, just a mist. James 4:14 says, “You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” We forget that we are leaving footprints as we pass on into eternity. What eternity have you chosen? Recently two dear friends of ours passed away, and as I reflected on their lives, I was deeply touched by the comparison. One had given their life to Jesus and by faith had accepted Him to be the “boss “ of their life. The other had rejected Him as their Savior and Lord and with a sudden death, made their choice by default where they would spend forever. Don’t make presumptions on the future without consulting God. The world is constantly changing. Most people, including myself, live like tomorrow is not coming. In fact, the pages of history show us a very different story. What does the future hold? No one but God actually knows. We are told to live in the now. The future is a destination. What do you and I devote our time to? Where are your priorities? Think for a moment about those most precious to you. A spouse, children, sibling, a parent etc. We have to admit, we love spending time with them. But are they all followers of Christ? Will you see them all in heaven? These are uncomfortable questions I realize but they need to be addressed. Instead of rushing blindly from one obligation to another, take time to care. Take time to celebrate the lives of others. Take time to show the most important things and beliefs to others. Show them first of all, your love of Jesus, then take it the next step and share the good news of the gospel with them. This what taking a long view is all about. Jesus says, “behold I stand at the door knocking, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him. “ What is more important than the loved ones that surround you? To live each day as our last is also living hopefully with a very long view. No man knows exactly when Christ will return or when our expiration date is. It could be suddenly or after a long lived life, but we will expire and leave this earth one day. A milk carton has an expiration date stamped on it. ... You and I also are stamped with an expiration date Let’s look at the future for a Christian Revelation 21:4-10 1. No more suffering or pain. 2. Eternal life in heaven with our Savior Jesus. 3. Sons and daughters of God. 4. No more death, as death is finally conquered. 5. God will wipe away all tears. 6. No need for the sun ..light will come from God Himself. 7. Inheritance - all things. 8. Priceless blessings. 9. Christ Himself. 10. Beauty peace and love - ChristLike I don’t even want to contrast all the awful details awaiting those who reject the free and awesome gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, except to say it is eternal/forever separation from God!
