More Month Than Money .. Whose Fault? Mr. Racke, Beth’s Father, who is now with the Lord, would counsel people having financial problems this way. He would say, “If you are doing your best, If you are not lazy and you are God’s child, God has promised to provide all of your needs." If your needs are not being met and you have met the first 2 criteria, look at your spending and see where you have put your wants before your needs. Yes we want our wants, but if you learn the secret of contentment, you will find you have what you need plus money leftover for some of your wants. Remember, it is sometimes more fun to want something than to actually get it. You can never make more than you want to spend, but it is easy to spend more than you can make. It also can cause great stress in the family. We really have only 2 choices; make more money or spend less. These choices are more apparent the deeper a person is in debt. In marriage, team work will make the dream work. No one has a corner on the money or the work necessary to make the money if the team is going to succeed. Marriage is a partnership, each partner contributes and sacrifices for the benefit of the whole. “My God will provide all your needs according to His riches in glory of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:9 Our God is all knowing, almighty, he is everywhere and is your provider. Think about that for just a moment as you reflect on you and your choices - He is your all! Commercials are designed to make you to want something you would not normally buy. They are designed to create dissatisfaction in you that you think the product will fill. You are being manipulated to buy something you don’t need with money you don’t have, often to impress people you don’t even like. There is nothing wrong with dreams, goals or MONEY. Enjoy the options MONEY provide and LIVE WELL. If you are a Christian, there is more to it. Everything we have belongs to him. We are managing what he has entrusted us with. He has promised to supply all our needs. If we trust him, we will pay our tithes and offerings, first knowing that he will supply our needs. If we don’t tithe and we spend money on what we want, before what we need, and then run out, we should not blame God for the short fall. We are guilty of poor management. One more thing; it is estimated that 68% of the arguments in marriage revolve around finances. There is nothing more divisive in marriages today. With Satan’s desire to destroy the family and tear down relationships, do you think he desires you to be fiscally responsible? Never- His plan has always been built on dissatisfaction and great pain and sorrow, followed by wrong choices, which lead to lengthy repair and even greater loss. Don't get me wrong, dissatisfaction is not wrong, but when we are there is a right choice of action and correction. Remember, as you purchase something on credit, you have yet to pay for the item and a minimum payment will only put you in bondage and enslave you to the borrower. There is freedom in doing things as God says or you can allow the devil to put a choke hold on your life. Proverbs 22: 7 “the borrower is slave to the lender”. Do you feel that way every time you pay your bills? What about when you call your bill collector or credit card company? How about when you look at your credit report? Or have you ever bounced a check and realized the banks seem to kick you while you down with additional charges? Have you ever missed a payment and had you credit account interest explode and the low interest and payment disappear? Have you ever gone to purchase something and that dreaded notice appears before you on the screen - DENIED. Then you are a slave to the lender. Praying you and I will have the discipline and courage to slay the debt giant. Praying you prosper even as your soul prospers. 3. Jehovah Jirah my provider. Sent from my iPad
