“Your wealth and all your treasures I will give for SPOIL the price of your high places for sin through all your territory. You shall loosen your hand from your heritage that I gave you, and make you SERVE our enemies in the land that you do not know, for my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn forever.” Jeremiah 17:4 -5 We have something to overcome in life that is out of control. We are seeing many firsts in our culture and society today; abortion though all nine months to the day of birth, gender redefinition, same sex marriages and even calls to accept pedophilia. Very little startles us anymore as Satan runs to and fro, devouring everything in his sight. Never give up. “We are fighting not against flesh and blood but against principalities in very high places.” This is a battle for the souls of mankind and the soul of our nation. There are historical points throughout time of total destruction, enslavement and total loss of wealth and blessing, that can be traced to the people turning their backs on God, and even worse, mocking God. Though it seems sometimes we are losing, we aren’t, and in fact we are winning. We are on the winning side of life. The Bible makes it very clear; “He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.” What a powerful daily affirmation for all who name the name of Christ their lives. Our children are growing up with these new influences all around them. The text books, as well as much of the media influence, are used to transform their thinking and preparing them to accept the next unknown levels of depravity. This is why it so important that our children are girded with the truth of God’s Word early. Their sensitivity is often undermined and they need to understand that though they may be the minority position in society, they have the majority position in heaven. They need to know God loves them and though difficult living may be ahead, they are cared for by the Almighty God, All knowing God, the creator of All. Teach them nothing surprises God and nothing is too big for God. It is time to be intentional with your children. You must intentionally take time to teach them God’s Word and immerse them in the things of God. Also, parents give the opportunity for your children to accept Christ as their personal Savior. Don’t think it happens without asking and providing opportunity. Learn yourself how to lead your children to Christ. After they have made a commitment to Christ, model Christian living for them. It is very important they grow and are discipled. They will need to understand that they need to stand boldly for Christ, even when the world hates Him. Parents and adults in churches today, this may take real transformation in our lives and real rededication of our own lives before we can be effective in teaching and reaching our own children. The church must be ready for the boys and girls. As the storm clouds gather, and before the winds howl, and the rain and thunder pelts their lives, we now have time. The window is open but all indicators are pointing to a window that soon may close. These are very urgent days. Beth and I are continuing to reach the boys and girls in the public schools, but we need the parents and the church to do their part. The church, like never before in American history, must be prepared to disciple and lead children to the Lord. It must become a priority. Sunday school and youth leaders need to be properly trained and given the tools to truly be effective. Apologetics for children is a must and true understanding of how they have been set apart and are very special to God is very necessary. Prayer of the saints of God is needed and should be relished as they pray for the children. Teach your children to have a quiet time with God. Child Evangelism Fellowship, at www.cefonline.com, will provide training and tools for you. The local directors are willing to train your church children’s ministry leaders. The opportunity is yours, now with God’s help take advantage of the opportunity!
