Refresh, Renew And Refocus

Look at your relationship with God and His Son Jesus. There is a deep foundational Truth that leads to a relationship with God. Proverbs 1:7: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” The awe or deep respect Is the starting point of the relationship with God. The relationship depends on knowing and trusting God Through faith. The purity, holiness and amazing love of God is something to identify in order to understand how the bolt of sin separates each of us from such perfection. God’s perfect will and God’s total sovereignty is something we can all spend more time contemplating. Have you ever pondered the fact that who you are is by the will of God. The fact is God is working all things according to His desire; your profession, your ministry, your job and of course your relationships. This alone is why you should celebrate God’s goodness in your life. This should bring constant refreshing to your daily life and deep moment by moment renewal of your faith. With these two indescribable privileges comes the result of focus and refocus. Focus on the grace of God and His blessings and goodness to each of us and our families. You also are driven to make an impact for Him. You realize it is because of the gift of His Son Jesus, that wherever you live, work or play, you make a difference - your character shines bright as you represent our Lord, wherever you are placed. I recently told a congregation in Belize, “You do not live for Christ only while you are in church on Sunday and then on Monday turn on the news or read a newspaper and slump back in your chair, shaking your head in disgust over the murder and mayhem in your city or country doing nothing - not even praying. In other words, Christianity and its solutions must be more than just another church service. Your spiritual identity is much bigger than that. ”You are not Holy when you attend church; you are Holy with a responsibility anywhere you are." God is in the business of transformation. His grace is an example of the Spirit of God converting and transforming power. When we look at our lives, our families and countries, it is so important to remember the movement of God and His plan for transformation; JESUS! Beth and I have witnessed this transforming power of God that refreshes and renews. We have been blessed to see that transformation in children’s lives as we share the truths of God’s Word with them. We have watched as they changed their families and then their villages. As God moves in the hearts of people, complete areas of cities have been transformed. They have in many cases become triumphant in their Christian lives, showing those who do not yet know our Lord and Savior the joy in loving and serving others. God makes you different as His Spirit begins to live in you. It always has fascinated me why people who are given the opportunity to say, I am a sinner, please forgive me and help me - I trust and believe you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross and shed your blood so I would no longer be separated from You, the perfect and holy God-the creator of all. I trust you not only died for me, but you rose from the grave 3 days later, showing me you have conquered death to give new life to me. Then to begin a new a refreshing renewal in their lives. This is all that is required to believe through faith in Jesus to spend eternity with God (forever). Why would some be so unwise as to say no and shine this on and instead choose HELL. What is amazing is that they often think they are so smart. When the word of God, by the power of His Holy Spirit is heard, embraced and enjoyed, we can enjoy the refreshing the renewal and a complete new focus.
