Mavericks

Those that stand out and do things differently and do not fit the mold of the organization. They are odd but effective, often bringing new life and ideas to a structured and system orientated platform. They usually are the disruptors of the common and often mundane. These are the Steve Jobs and Elon Musks of your organizations. These types of people can be great additions to your organization. These Mavericks are often very difficult to marshal but are a gift from God. Somebody needs to have vision and ideas to differentiate the organization from a "Me Too" organization. We must make room for Mavericks. “Good leadership is not about the the role but about the goal... “ Dr. Hans Finzel. How can a maverick mindset help you achieve goals? If you do what is natural and common, you will be a poor leader. Protectionism is one of the biggest mistakes an organization can make. Inspirations and influence are so much better than control. The football team that is your favorite can not make a single score without each person on the team. The leadership. People are opportunities rather than interruptions. Affirmation is about knowing, care, and praise and often we grumble when someone steps outside the box and from the norm. Why would a Leaders be conflicted by Mavericks? Never experienced that before. Competition rather than collaboration. Ego and former beliefs. Philippians 3:13-14 These people are change agents. They often bring new intelligence and innovation dreamers into an organization. They are non conformists. “Life begins at the end of your comfort zones." How do you treat these “kind"? How do you feel about change? How do you feel about learning? What does your team look like? Mavericks are the way out of the slide toward institutional bureaucracy. Are you willing to change the culture? Who are you choosing to be on your team? Leadership involves selection. How to kill Mavericks “We have never done this way before.” “What makes you can do things that way.” “That is not going to work.” “We tried something like that before.” “How dare you suggest that what we are doing is now all wrong!” Check out the blog on the four step of every business.
