Find out what people want If I place a cup in front of you, what would be your response? Would you pour coffee in it ? But I don't want coffee! So would you add ice and make it a refreshing coke? But I don't want a Coke. Or would you fill it with a monster drink and watch me spin out of control from an extra dose of caffeine? But I don't want a high caffeine drink! You would be much wiser to just find out what I want.. Then make sure I get it. Business ministry and social growth usually depend on leadership to move ideas with a vision to build people so they can in turn build the enterprise. Helping people to achieve what they really want and what matters puts them in what I call the "sweet-spot" and helps them to achieve more because they experience less stress. What do I mean by the "sweet spot"? I am not much of a golfer but I do enjoy swinging the clubs. My golf game can be described like this; I hit the ball then I determine which fairway I am actually going to play in. Hitting the sweet spot is pure joy as it soars into the stratosphere. When you hit the ball just right, it soars! When you hit it wrong, who knows where in the rough it has disappeared to. The same happens when we speak and discover what matters to people. When you achieve the goal of determining the deepest desires of the contact you are speaking to, you to have hit the sweet spot in their lives. A bond and connection will be established like no other. From this will come leadership and loyalty ...two traits that make the dream work. Two traits I will cover in future blogs. Finding the God given sweet spot means embracing the God given talents and gifts of the individual contact rather than the ones you wish they had. This is the place in their lives where the greatest passions and abilities intersect. Successfully connecting and bonding is more about helping people to get what they want rather than you selfishly attempting to get what you want! So start today! And please pour me a cup of coffee!! I would like cream and stevia!
