Self assuring humble leadership Self confidence has only one overriding quality. No it is not resiliency, no it is not boldness, no it is not tough mindedness, and no it is not enthusiasm. It is humbleness; it is the fact that a leader realizes who his or hers confidence is placed in. Is it placed in themselves or in the God who created them? People usually perceive leaders as larger than life. They are titled, Charismatic leaders. They are defined as people who can arouse strong emotions and can captivate minds. The virtue of humility is one of the most overlooked attributes of solid leadership. People who see serving others rather than promoting themselves make some of the best leaders. These are leaders who want to see the best interest of the organization be prominent over the individual. Reserve and graciousness + strong will and great vision creates the big move from good to great! This is a unique form of leadership not found in all leaders, but found in the historical best of the best leadership models. For any organization, business, church, ministry or country to build to the highest level of leadership and to build enduring greatness, humility must be part of the equation. When I started a leadership training class, I searched for a new moniker to promote my latest endeavor ...here is what the lord laid on my heart. Ambassador team. ..Humble Servants, With Ferocious Resolve, Guided by Gods Spirit. This is what I love about Christian leadership. We can count on God and His Spirit to lead. We just need to be available and willingly. Anyone God calls on can achieve great things through the will of God. John Stott, the great Christian leader said, " Pride is your greatest enemy , humility is your greatest east friend." How many times have you heard it said and watched it in real life, "Pride cometh before the fall." The Bible is clear; pride is the root of much sin. C.S. Lewis in mere Christianity wrote, " according to Christian teachers, the essential vice, the utmost of evil, is Pride. Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere flea bites in comparison. It was though pride the devil became the devil. Pride leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti God state of mind ...It is Pride which has been the chief cause of misery in every nation, business, church, ministry and family since the world began." A recent article in Harvard Business review is just the secular worlds verification of what Gods Word teaches and what is TRUTH.. Servant leadership and humility are found to be keys to great success. This is a quote from the periodical, Harvard Business Review, in an article entitled, The Best Leaders Are Humble Leaders, "To promote inclusion and reap its rewards, leaders should embrace a selfless leadership style." Humble leadership involves; 1. Sincerity and a heart to invest in others. 2. Gentle but also Strong. 3. Thankfulness and graciousness. 4. Authenticity It is recognizing who you are ..your identity and and the gift of God to your life. If we chose to ignore that, we may have to learn humility the hard and difficult way. There are too many examples of destroyed lives, businesses, churches, ministries, and even countries to even mention.
