Proficient Leaders Face A Big Challenge Today

Proficient leaders face a big challenge today It is and has always been "proficiency testing" that the market place has looked for in leaders in business and ministry. Today there is an added number to the formula that so many leaders have forgotten or maybe even have chosen to ignore. Today's leaders must be big picture thinkers and look for the effects of the emerging trends and changes in their business and ministry environments. The leaders of today need to look past the business or ministry and recognize the changes before them. Sometimes we get stuck with "in the box thinking" and stay there no matter what. Sometimes we think the solution to everything is education and more training. God is so big and so powerful we forget especially in ministry and business the mind of Christ is at our disposal as Christian Leaders. We need to see the bigness of our God as well as the smallness of the still small voice of God. Leaders need to broaden their horizons and look for new and exciting ways to foster growth. This means they need to always be expanding and widening our knowledge. Then the leader must ask and use God given wisdom. The leaders challenge for today is to stay on top of change that continues to happen at breakneck speed. Today's leaders must adapt quickly and move ahead or step back quickly as the need arises. One of the challenges I see today is the older generation seems determined to nix any new idea or excitement from the younger generation. The younger generation sees no wealth of wisdom in the cistern of the older generation. Effective Leaders are consensus builders of both positions. Technology is driving much of the change we see today. The techno world is moving so quickly.. Leaders are having a great challenge keeping up, but keeping up the leader must do. This is where the leader needs to rely on skilled and knowledgeable helpers and employees. The great leaders of today recognize this to be a great investment in the future of their endeavor. Creative and imaginative communicators and out of the box thinkers can enhance your business or ministry. But one thing remains constant and firm. The inerrant Words of God. The message will always be the same. The Gospel is true and in Him there is no shifting. Jesus has proclaimed, I am the way the truth and the life, no man come

unto the Father but by me. John 14:6. John 1:1 says, "in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." James points out in the book of James 1:17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the the Father Of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows" Again in Isaiah 40:8 the prophet says, "The grass withers and flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever." The message should never change and should be burned into our hearts but the methods of delivering the message do change. Change is eminent.
