Whether it be in business or on the mission field, the concept of crisis management is reality. Businesses must learn to adjust to the market and the mission field needs to look at different ideas and techniques. Every so often, a problem is discovered with a product such as a pharmaceutical or food. But today, more and more crisis management is on the personal side. As the ethics are replaced with relativism and sin is no longer recognized as sin, the personal issues increase. Too many times we say “don’t worry about it- it is alright” .. but let me warn you the acceptance of sin has a multiplying and expanding base that finally will show its ugly head in a crisis. All sin is serious. The fact is we serve a sovereign God and things are never as bad as they seem. When life seems totally out of control, realize it is not. Everyone stands by and anxiously awaits the answer as to how the company will manage the crisis. From the White House to main street, and from the church to the mission field, everyone wants to see how the leaders will handle a crisis. Will they own the problem and take responsibility or shift the blame? Will they take a proactive approach or will they take a reactive approach? Will they deny the problem or ignore it, hoping it will go away. Experience and time has shown me those who own the problem and promise to fix it are solution managers. Crisis is either something you have already experienced or will. There is no way to get through this life avoiding crisis. Crisis: Crisis will cause you to re-examine your vision and purpose. Crisis will cause you to look again at your priorities. Crisis will help you answer a heavy question. Is it worth it? Crisis will confront an inner question ...what do you hold sacred? Your values will be tested. Crisis will bring out the real you. Whatever ever you do, don’t give up or sacrifice something for the moment of desperation, but instead stay true to your principles of life. God is able to take everything and use it for His Good and according to His purpose. Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” KJV
